Product Overview

The Blowout Preventer (BOP) Closing Unit, also known as a BOP Control Unit or Koomey Unit, is a critical hydraulic power system used in oil and gas drilling and well intervention operations. It stores hydraulic energy in accumulator vessels and delivers pressurised hydraulic fluid to operate the Blowout Preventer (BOP) stack and other compatible well-control equipment.

The unit enables operators to open and close annular and ram-type preventers and, depending on the system configuration, operate hydraulic choke and kill valves and diverter functions. It typically incorporates hydraulic pumps, nitrogen-precharged accumulators, a fluid reservoir, pressure regulators, control manifolds, gauges and local or remote control panels.

Designed for demanding onshore and offshore drilling environments, the BOP Closing Unit supports rapid well-control response, operational reliability and emergency well isolation.
