Throttle Manifold

A throttle manifold, commonly referred to as a choke manifold, is a high-pressure well-control assembly used to regulate and safely control the flow and pressure of formation fluids when the BOP is closed. It consists of interconnected valves, chokes, pressure gauges, spools and flow lines.

API Specification 16C covers choke and kill equipment, including choke and kill manifold assemblies and drilling choke actuators and controls.
